Els was de rechterhand van Joep Oomen (1961-2016) bij Trekt Uw Plant, de eerste Cannabis Social Club van België, in Antwerpen. Met twee andere TUP bestuursleden werd ze in mei 2017 gearresteerd en zat drie weken achter de tralies. Ze speelt nog steeds een centrale rol bij TUP.
