Al twintig jaar timmert het Franse antwoord op Cypress Hill aan de weg met een mix van hiphop,  rock en dub. De groep ontstond rond 1997 in Lyon en bracht sindsdien acht studio- en vier livealbums uit. Het iconische band logo en de groepsnaam spreken boekdelen over hun liefde voor cannabis. Citaat uit het nummer ‘Mr Nice’: ‘Fight for the right to be as high as a kite, It’s a ganja thing roll up and then sing, I’m gonna free the weed one day’. Le Peuple de l’Herbe blijft zich muzikaal vernieuwen en vierde vorig jaar met een uitverkochte tour hun twintigjarige jubileum. Met hun optreden op Cannabis Bevrijdingsdag gaat een lang gekoesterde wens in vervulling.

For twenty years, the French response to Cypress Hill has been on the road with a mix of hip hop, rock and dub.
