Van 1981 tot 1986 diende Michael Krawitz bij de Amerikaanse luchtmacht. Na een ongeval in Guam onderging hij dertien operaties. Michael richtte de actiegroep Veterans for Medical Cannabis Access op en maakte in 1997 deel uit van een klein team activisten dat de medicinale cannabiswetgeving van Virginia wist te redden. In 1998 nam hij deel aan een grote drugstop van de Verenigde Naties en sprak in de grote hal over het basisrecht op toegang tot medicijnen, inclusief cannabis. Michael is een echte veteraan in de internationale drugshervormingsbeweging, zowel bij de VN als bij de Wereldgezondheidsorganisatie (WHO).

A disabled United States Air Force Veteran, Michael Krawitz served from 1981 to 1986 and was injured in an accident in Guam. He had 13 surgeries to put him back together. Michael founded Veterans for Medical Cannabis Access and in 1997 he was part of a small team of activists that protected Virginia’s longstanding medical marijuana law from being repealed. In 1998 he was part of a United Nations drug summit. He gave testimony inside the UN General Assembly Hall on the basic right to access required medicine. Michael is a true veteran in this international field of NGO drug policy work, both at the UN and the World Health Organization.
